ILAP Public Comment: General Assistance Proposed Rule #26

ILAP submits a public comment commending Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) on proposal for mandatory training for General Assistance administrators. ILAP also provided recommendations for training topics to ensure immigrants receive trauma-informed and culturally competent assistance.

ILAP Public Comment: Work Permit Automatic Extensions

ILAP submits a public comment urging USCIS to make automatic extensions of work permits longer and permanent, as well as put in place systems to help people at risk of losing work authorization due to government processing delays to alert the government that urgent action is needed.
